LPD SYSTEM PROVIDES SAFE DRINKING WATER TO AIRCRAFTS (100,000 LITRES PER DAY) AT FRANKFURT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!

FROM A CURSURY SEARCH OF DISINFECTION SYSTEMS MANUFACTURERS WEB-SITES, IT WOULD APPEAR THAT FRANKFURT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (FRAPORT) HAS SEVERAL OF SUCH SYSTEMS INSTALLED. LVPG WOULD LIKE TO BRING CLARITY TO THIS ILLUSION.

LVPG IS THE ONLY COMPANY CURRENTLY SUPPLYING SUCH EQUIPMENT TO FRANKFURT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. SHOULD IT PROVE NECESSARY LVPG CAN SUPPLY SUPPORTING TESTIMONIALS FROM FRAPORT TO SUPPORT THIS CLAIM.

The Challenge:

Frankfurt/Main (Fraport AG) is required to provide safe drinking water to aircraft departing / visiting the airport. Historically the drinking water was treated by means of chlorine gas. There was a potential “risk” associated with the process due to the explosive nature of the gas employed.

Solution:

Fraport AG has replaced the historical method (Chlorine gas) with a LVPG LPD Series disinfection system. All water provided to the aircraft is treated with AnoFluid produced “on-site”.

Result:

Reduced running costs, safe, environmentally friendly, consistent quality

• Fraport AG has reduced water consumption by 24 Mio. Litres / year of both fresh / waste water (related to cleaning and flushing water tankers)
• Water delivery Fleet has been reduced by two trucks (€360.000) due to efficiencies 
• Water tank preparation (disinfection) is reduced from 24 hrs to 15 minutes
• Annual “Hazmat“briefings (Chlorine gas) are no longer necessary (1,400 man/hrs) 
• Health and Safety environment for employees has improved
